LACONIA — It’s time to place an order for Belknap County Conservation District's Flowering Bulb Sale Fundraiser. Order deadline is Sept. 11 with customers picking up their purchases in early October. For more information about the individual selections and to download an order form visit belknapccd.org/fall-bulb-sale, or call the Conservation District at 603-527-5880 to request that information by mail.
Plant this fall for a gorgeous spring and summer next year. Offered are multiple varieties of daffodil, tulip, crocus, hyacinth, allium, a variety of hard neck garlic, and more. Not only are these flowers beautiful, but many are deer resistant and support pollinators.
Orders will help support natural resource conservation projects in Belknap County. These projects include stream restoration projects to reduce streambank erosion and improve game fish habitat, donation of locally grown fresh produce to food pantries and seniors, and a purchase subsidy program for military veterans at local farmers’ markets.
The BCCD mission is to, "Help landowners and communities conserve natural resources by identifying natural resource conservation issues and needs, initiating conservation demonstration projects that showcase best management practices, providing the public with conservation information and training, and facilitating access to technical and financial resources."
