CENTER SANDWICH — The Center Sandwich Fine Craft Gallery opened for the season on Saturday, May 14 and the gallery, which is a founding member of the League of NH Craftsmen, is offering a full line-up of craft and art classes this summer.
Adults can choose from a variety of 16 classes, many of which are also open to teens and kids accompanied by adults. There are also two dedicated children’s classes for kids aged 10-16 and one dedicated family class. Information and registration for all classes is now available on the gallery website at centersandwich.nhcrafts.org.
Classes will kick off on Saturday, June 11 with Earrings in a Day taught by Joy Raskin, a juried member of the League of NH Craftsmen. Participants will be able to make their own pair of fabulous earrings using wire, sheet metal and beads.
On June 15, Learn to Crochet Flower Workshop will be offered with Lucie Sinkler, a new resident of Sandwich, who recently sold her yarn shop in Chicago, IL, where she taught classes for many years. This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn to crochet. You’ll be able to make beautiful colorful flower blossoms and also learn to read crochet instructions and graphs.
The third class being offered in June is Fresh Flower Arranging with Shirley Glines who owns Zoe Jax Gin Designs. This class will be held on June 21 and was so popular last June that a second session was added in August. Participants will learn basic fresh floral design techniques and work with many types of natural elements and fresh flowers to take home a beautiful table arrangement.
Several painting classes including watercolor and acrylics will be held in July and August as well as needle-felting, stone chip carving, spinning, mosaics, chair caning, jewelry making, weaving and fused glass.
Class details on the full line-up including tuition and materials costs and registration information can be found on the gallery’s website at centersandwich.nhcrafts.org, by calling 603-284-6831 or by visiting The League of NH Craftsmen Gallery at 32 Main Street in the historic village of Center Sandwich. The Gallery will be open through Mid-October from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday.
