Steven Gonzalez, formerly of Laconia and a student in its schools, is a PhD candidate in the History, Anthropology, Science, Technology and Society program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds a a master's in anthropology from Brandeis University and a bachelor's in feminist anthropology from Keene State College. Gonzalez is also a filmmaker and speculative fiction writer, under the byline E.G. Condé. He is one of six social scientists in the world engaged in the course of study of Ecological Impacts of Cloud computing on our planet. He has spoken as keynote speaker at numerous conferences all over the world, most notably addressing the Economic Development Council of the UN in Geneva last October. Gonzalez will be awarded his PhD on Aug. 29.
