MEREDITH — Benoit Xavier Beaudoin, son of Mark & Stacy Beaudoin and member of Scouting America Troop 55 of Meredith, was recently awarded the rank of Eagle scout in a Court of Honor ceremony held at the Grange in Meredith Center. Beaudoin is a recent graduate of Inter-Lakes Middle High School where he was a three sport NHIAA Scholar athlete.
Beaudoin was involved with Pack/Troop 55 for 12 years. To achieve the rank of Eagle with bronze and gold palms he had to advance in rank and serve in a number of leadership roles earning 31 merit badges along the way. He also had to demonstrate leadership by planning, developing and completing a community service project.
His Eagle Scout project was to replace the Windsong Place conservation sign in Meredith that had fallen into disrepair.
At the Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony, Beaudoin said, “Today is a day of celebration and gratitude, a day that marks the culmination of a journey that began many years ago. It is a day I have eagerly anticipated and one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is a milestone that signifies dedication, perseverance, and the unwavering support of many individuals who have guided me along the way.”
Scoutmaster of Troop 55 Steve Sundius said, “Ben has learned all the things he needs to be a great leader such as being a man of integrity and honor, and to lead from the front and never ask others what you’re not willing to do yourself.”
Beaudoin was also presented with the Marine Corps League Good Citizenship award by Robert Patenaude. He will be attending New England College in the fall where he will be studying Graphic Design and playing baseball.
