Belknap Mill Quilters Guild elects new officers at annual meeting

LACONIA — Belknap Mill Quilters Guild held its annual meeting on May 14, at the Congregational Church of Laconia. The first order of business was the installation of the 2025-26 board of directors

The guild’s officers are President Ginny Canning; President Elect Nancy Smath; Treasurer Jennifer Rowan; Recording Secretary Joni Belser; Community Outreach Katie Haddock; Membership Ila Mattila and Kim Amicangioli; Corresponding Secretary Susan Sciotto Brown; Digital Content Michelle Plourde; Hospitality Hope Kokas and Heidi Lee; Publicity Anne Bole; Members at Large Diane Orlowski, Jean Durfee and Lynn Poulin; Programs Cheryl Goldenberg and Kris McLavey; Quilt Show-Ila Mattila and Katie Haddock; and Special Events-Maureen Bird.

BMQG membership meetings are held at the Lakes Region Community College, 379 Belmont Road, in the auditorium and on Zoom the second Wednesday of each month.

Monthly meetings open with social time and snacks beginning at 6 p.m. (unless otherwise noted), followed by a business meeting at 6:45 p.m., with lectures and presentations to follow as time allows.

Canning presented the guild’s Golden Needle Award to Michele Slock. The annual award is given to a deserving member who has gone over and above in service to the Guild during the past year.

The 48th Annual Harvest of Quilts Show will be held Sept. 20-21, at Lakes Region Community College. The Mysterious Quilt Journey will be held Sept. 12-21, featuring quilts in dozens of shops downtown.
