ALTON — The Alton Business Association invites the community to come together for the Alton Old Home Day Parade on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11:30 a.m. Celebrating this year’s theme, “Small Town - Big Heart,” the parade will feature floats, walkers, civic groups, classic cars, and local families in a lively procession that begins at Alton Central School and travels down to scenic Alton Bay.

Parade participants are welcome to register for free. Whether marching or cheering from the sidelines, all are encouraged to take part in this festive community tradition.

In addition to the parade, Alton Bay will be buzzing with summer activity all day long. Attendees can start with the Annual Alton Bay Boat Show at 8 a.m., browse local vendors at the Alton Bay Craft Fair, or lace up for the Alton 5K Road Race at 9 a.m. From noon until 3 p.m., the American Legion Post 72 will host family fun with cornhole, a scavenger hunt, raffles, a dunking booth, and live music by the Echo Tones. The day wraps up with a free lakeside concert by Alton Parks and Recreation, featuring Bittersweet at the Alton Bay bandstand from 7-9 p.m.
