MEREDITH — 603 Paws, a locally owned pet boutique located at Mill Falls Marketplace in Meredith has launched Round Up for Rosie, a community-driven initiative supporting Rosie, a service dog in training who will become a certified comfort dog for the Inter-Lakes School District.

Once certified, Rosie will provide emotional support, calm, and companionship to students throughout the Inter-Lakes schools, helping children manage stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges in a safe and nurturing learning environment.

Comfort dogs play an increasingly important role in schools by promoting emotional regulation, improving focus, and fostering a sense of safety for students and staff alike. Rosie’s training and certification will allow her to work directly within school settings, offering support through her presence and gentle connection with students who need it most.

Round Up for Rosie allows customers at 603 Paws to round up their purchase at checkout, with proceeds directly supporting Rosie’s professional training, certification, and care. Small contributions add up quickly, making it easy for the community to participate in a meaningful local cause.

In addition to rounding up at checkout, direct donations are also welcomed.

Donations can be made payable to the Inter-Lakes School District, with “Comfort Dog” noted in the memo line. Donations may be dropped off in person at the Meredith Police Department or at Interlakes Elementary School, attention Officer Rob Nedeau, who is assisting with the comfort dog initiative.

Rosie’s story has already resonated throughout the Lakes Region and was recently featured on Lakes 101.5 FM, where listeners learned more about the impact comfort dogs can have in schools and how the community can support her journey.

“We believe in giving back to the community that supports us,” said a representative from 603 Paws. “Round Up for Rosie is a simple way for customers and community members to make a real difference in the lives of local students.”

Community members can support the initiative by rounding up at checkout at 603 Paws, making a direct donation to the Inter-Lakes School District, shopping online at 603Paws.com, or sharing Rosie’s story to help spread awareness throughout the Lakes Region.

603 Paws is a locally owned pet boutique originally founded as a mobile pet shop, 603 Paws has grown into a beloved community destination offering high-quality dog and cat treats, toys, apparel, and gifts for pet lovers. With a strong focus on supporting local makers, giving back to the community, and celebrating the human–animal bond, 603 Paws proudly serves pets and their people throughout the Lakes Region and beyond.
