Wescott Law recognized among state’s top law firms

LACONIA -- Wescott Law was recently recognized as one of the state’s top law firms in an annual supplement published by Business NH Magazine.

The firm was one of 22 in the state, and the only one based in the Lakes Region, to be included in the issue, a supplement to the month’s regular publication, Those included were listed in order of the number of New Hampshire attorneys. The largest firm has 638 attorneys, but because only 15 are licensed to practice in New Hampshire, it was ranked 13th. The top firm was one with far fewer attorneys, 96 to be exact, but because 78 of them were New Hampshire attorneys it was ranked No. 1.

Wescott law was ranked No. 20 based on the survey's criteria.

“We are very humbled to be included among much larger firms,” said Wescott Law's managing partner, Allison Ambrose, who is one of the firm's nine attorneys, all licensed to work in New Hampshire,

Most of the firms listed have their main office in larger cities -- nine are based in Manchester and six in Concord. Three were based out of state, but have offices in New Hampshire and were thus included in the list.

The publication arrived in mail boxes earlier this month, along with the regular June issue of Business NH Magazine. Coincidently, the latter features Wescott Law’s youngest attorney, Brett Allard, who took part in a Millennial Roundtable discussion last month.

“It’s wonderful for our firm, which is celebrating its ninetieth anniversary this year, to receive such recognition,” said Ambrose. “The partners take great pride in remaining current, implementing improved systems, rebranding the firm and introducing a new generation of attorneys”, Ambrose added. “In recent years, several younger attorneys have joined Wescott Law, resulting in a more balanced demographic. It’s a great combination of youthful ingenuity and the learned experience of the firm’s founders.”

Wescott Law’s main office is located in the heart of Laconia, with satellite offices in Meredith, Bristol and Portsmouth. More information about the firm can be found at wescottlawnh.com or by calling the main office at 603-524-2166..
