BRISTOL -- A new gift shop, North Woods Gifts and Gallery, located in Central Square, is now open.
Tthe shop features the distinctive and expressive landscape photography of owner Justin Wheeler. In addition to his own works, the shop includes paintings by several area artists.
"I love the beauty of the area and the artistic ambiance of the historic downtown square. The shops complement each other and I am looking forward to being an integral part of that,” said Wheeler.
Wheeler, who lives in Hill, has been a professional photographer for six years, and is a member of the Lakes Region Art Association. His artistic photographs have garnered attention locally, and after being a top seller in another gallery, he decided to open his own shop and gallery.
An avid hiker, many of his subjects are captured by being observant and being in the right place in the right time with his camera ready. “You have to be ready to catch those fleeting moments of beauty,” he said. ”I wanted to capture a sunrise from the top of Mount Washington, so I was up and on my way at 2 a.m. waiting for that golden moment.”
North Woods Gifts and Gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
