CONCORD — Joseph Coneeny and Michelle McEwen were recently appointed to the New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp Board of Trustees as chair and vice chair respectively.
Coneeny joined the board of Savings Bank of Walpole in 2014 before joining the board of NHMB in 2018. A retired corporate executive with an extensive background in banking, Coneeny was most recently managing director of media and telecom investment banking for Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. Coneeny is also currently a director of the Gordon A. Rich Memorial Foundation and the Hooper Institute of Walpole.
McEwen joined the board of Meredith Village Savings Bank in 2009 and has served on the Board of NHMB since 2013. She is the CEO and president of Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. McEwen joined Speare in 1992 as chief financial officer and was appointed to CEO in 2000. Under her leadership, Speare has been recognized as a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association several times over the years. She is active with a number of healthcare and community-based organizations such as NH Hospital Association, the Foundation for Healthy Communities and the Central NH Health Partnership.
NHMB Board members are stewards of assets and capital for affiliates Meredith Village Savings Bank, Merrimack County Savings Bank, Savings Bank of Walpole and NHTrust Financial Advisors. Key responsibilities include oversight of policy and long-term goal setting, ensuring NHMB’s financial health, and making certain the affiliates remain compliant and effectively engaged with the communities they serve.
