PLYMOUTH — The Board of Directors of New Hampshire Electric Cooperative has appointed Michael Jennings as president and chief executive officer. Jennings had been serving as Interim CEO since January.
“We’re thrilled to officially welcome Mike into the CEO role,” said NHEC Board Chair Bill Darcy. “He brings sharp strategic insight and a deep commitment to our members and employees. Under his leadership, we’ve maintained some of the lowest electric rates in the state, expanded access to high-speed internet in rural communities, and made smart investments in technology. Mike has been instrumental in driving these efforts forward, and we’re confident he’ll continue to lead with vision and integrity.”
Jennings joined NHEC in 2019 as director of engineering and was steadily promoted to vice president of engineering and operations, and later to vice president of energy delivery. In 2021, he was recognized nationally as a Co-op Rising Star by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He and his family reside in Tilton.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this exceptional organization,” said Jennings. “We have an outstanding team at the Co-op, and I’m proud of the work we’re doing every day to serve our members. Looking ahead, we’re focused on building a more resilient and modern electric grid, expanding broadband access, and continuing to innovate in how we deliver value. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re committed to meeting their needs with reliable, affordable service and forward-thinking solutions.”
