PLYMOUTH — New Hampshire Electric Cooperative President and CEO Alyssa Clemsen Roberts recently announced the promotion of Joshua Mazzei to vice president of operations.
Mazzei joined the organization in 2018 as manager of operations. Since then, he has taken on additional responsibilities in the operation of NHEC electric distribution system and was promoted to director of operations in 2022.
Mazzei came to NHEC from Eversource, where he was manager of regional operations. He started his career as a meter reader with Eversource (then known as Public Service of New Hampshire) and was also a lineman for 10 years. Mazzei also served in the United States Navy.
In his new role, Mazzei will lead the activities of the NHEC Operations Division, which provides safe, reliable and cost-effective electric service to NHEC members. NHEC owns and maintains over 6,000 miles of energized line that serves 86,000 homes and businesses in 118 New Hampshire communities.
“As a former lineworker, Josh has extensive knowledge of electrical operations that comes from years of hands-on work. He knows the job from the lineworkers’ perspective, which helps him empower not just the crews in the field but the support teams that keep them going when major power outages occur,” said Clemsen Roberts. “He is a great advocate for our operations staff and the NHEC members who rely on us every day.”
Mazzei will play a key role in several important NHEC initiatives, including the increased use of distribution automation to reduce outage times, replacing obsolete substation equipment to improve reliability, and facilitating the rollout of broadband internet service to NHEC members.
