LACONIA — First responders require ongoing training to develop new skills and maintain the expertise needed to respond effectively during emergencies. To support this effort, the Laconia Fire Department is planning to construct a new, 3,000-square-foot regional training facility that will provide realistic, hands-on training opportunities for first responders throughout the region.
Bank of New Hampshire donated $10,000 toward construction of the facility, which will be located on city property. The training center will help first responders strengthen operational readiness, practice response strategies in high-stress scenarios and improve outcomes during low-frequency, high-risk emergency situations.
“We are proud to support the Laconia Fire Department and its vision for a regional training facility that will benefit first responders across our community and beyond,” said Janna Thompson, assistant vice president and Laconia banking office manager. “Investing in public safety and emergency preparedness helps strengthen the communities we serve, and we are honored to be part of this important project.”
“We greatly appreciate Bank of New Hampshire’s generous support of our project,” said Fire Chief Tim Joubert. “This facility will provide critical training opportunities for first responders throughout the region, helping ensure they are prepared to respond safely, effectively and confidently when emergencies occur.”
