MEREDITH — Rev. Jay Hutchinson will lead the July 9 service, preaching a sermon entitled, at the Union Church of Meredith Neck.
After 23 years as the chaplain at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Middletown, Delaware, Rev. Hutchinson is leaving his posting there. During his time at the 9-12 all-residential school he strove to instill a passion for faith, learning, and community service in his students while teaching courses in religious studies, nuclear ethics, and service learning. He loves coaching soccer, wrestling and lacrosse. During the summer he resides in Holderness with his wife Whiz and son Jack.
Music for the service will be provided by Phil and Janet Sanguedolce, performing as "The Sweetbloods."
A variety of visiting clergy will lead subsequent services throughout July and August, including Scott Jamieson on July 16; Pastor Peter Lovett on July 23; Rev. John Hughes on July 30; Rev. Robert Thompson on Aug. 6; Rev. Ann Cady on Aug, 13; and Rev. Philip Polhemus on Aug. 20.
All are welcome for in-person worship at the church, located at 258 Meredith Neck Road, at 10 a.m. each Sunday from July 2 through Aug. 20. More information and directions to the church are available at unionchurchmeredith.com .
