Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous returns to The Weirs Sept. 12

LACONIA — The New England Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society invites boat owners, families, boating enthusiasts, photographers, and the public to join us for a casual Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous at The Weirs on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Docks open at 9 a.m. Participants can mingle with fellow classic boat enthusiasts while admiring an assortment of beautifully maintained antique and classic boats. Coffee, juice, and pastries will be available on the dock for participating boat owners and their families.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., weather and lake conditions permitting, the group will set out for a cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee. Several potential routes have been identified, with the final route determined based on wind and wave conditions.

“This is meant to be a very casual, social event,” said Doug Zimmerman, president of the New England Chapter. “It’s an opportunity to bring people together, enjoy the boats, meet other enthusiasts, and get out on the lake without the formality of a traditional boat show. We hope to reach more people from the western side of the Big Lake and invite everyone to come join us for the fun."

Throughout the morning, Vice President Steve Perkins will host Voices from the Dock, featuring conversations with boat owners about the history, restoration journeys, and memories behind their cherished vessels. Visitors can also browse the NEC-ACBS merchandise table and learn more about becoming a member. Come for the boats, stay for the people.

The event is free and open to the public.
