N.H. faces a serious challenge regarding the current substance abuse disorder pandemic. The stigma of substance abuse challenges is similar in history to those who had leprosy. Substance abuse disorders does not discriminate as it is found in all walks of life and social standings. Those who suffer from this serious disease have profound impacts globally not only to themselves, but to their families, friends, and community. Substance misuse carries both medical and mental health diagnosis. Stereotyping can hinder care and recovery.
