GILFORD — A home constructed by Meridian Construction recently received the 2024 Architectural Design: Modern and Home of the Year awards for a spectacular residential project completed in Gilford. This architectural recognition is presented by New Hampshire Home Magazine.

Designed by Marcus Gleysteen Architects, in collaboration with Blue Hour Design, the home features architectural elements that maximize views of the lake and surrounding mountains while maintaining a sleek, modern aesthetic. Large glass facades, robust materials, and boldly welcoming interiors characterize this award-winning design.

“This award is a tribute to our team’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation,” President of Meridian Construction Tim Long said. “Working alongside visionary architects, we were able to bring to life a design that not only respects but enhances the natural beauty of its lakeside setting. Our goal was to create a home that embodies the essence of luxury lakeshore living and accommodates a lively New England lifestyle. This award recognition confirms we have achieved that.”

The house features an open-concept layout that offers a fluid connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, essential for lakefront living. Advanced environmental technologies were integrated to ensure that the home is both energy-efficient and environmentally sensitive.

The designer’s vision was to create a space that feels both expansive and intimate, a sanctuary that connects the occupants with the lake, the sky and each other. Meridian Construction was pivotal in realizing this vision. Decades of expertise in navigating the complexities of lakeshore construction allowed them confidence to push the boundaries of design and functionality.

“With its thoughtful massing and harmonizing interiors, this home is confident and playful, bold and inviting. Out of a group of highly designed homes, this home and its setting stand out,” the award judges wrote.
