To The Daily Sun,

In a world that often feels heavy and divided, I’d like to give a shoutout to a place that brings people together: The Veteran’s Memorial Ski Area.

Built on a simple philosophy — being outside, being with community, and getting kids on skis and snowboards for little to no cost — The Vets proves that sometimes it really is that simple. They offer skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, snowshoeing, sledding, and hiking, all at little to no cost. They even offer lessons.

The Vets is a place to gather: food, drinks, snacks, and a safe, welcoming spot to meet friends. Readers could say they run on generators and vibes — great vibes. Nearly everything there is made possible by volunteers who give up nights, weekends, and precious free time to keep it all going.

With snowmaking and grooming, a bunny belt, rope tow, T-bar, and a fire pit where memories are made, The Vets is something truly special. At a time when there is so much to disagree about, I hope we can all agree that a place like this matters.

Give The Vets a visit, and consider supporting their mission.
