To The Daily Sun,

I just wanted to share what was on my heart. It's a sad day, when as an American, a person loses their life for simply speaking truth and sharing their belief and faith.

I work with retired soldiers just about every day. The very people who fought for our freedoms. I'm grateful there are those who are brave enough to live beyond themselves to help make a better way for others.

Charlie Kirk was also a person who lived a life beyond himself. He was a soldier for God. His weapon was Truth. This poem is dedicated to him and his passion for faith and freedom.

"Killed For the Truth"

You spoke for justice, You spoke of truth

Your unapologetic faith was living proof

You debated with anyone willing to speak

You were a light in the dark

With the anointing to teach

Some wanted guidance because they agreed

The Bible and Jesus is what they believe

Some wanted to argue and spread evil lies

Radical thinkers whose blinders deny

Thank you for your many definitions of a man

To serve and protect and taking a stand

Your passion for government and freedom of speech

Offered to those who have been out of reach

Your knowledge so vast for thirty-one

I sometimes forgot that you were so young

I truly appreciated the boldness you shared

A careful balance of correction and care

All you did was make truth and the light

Available to anyone who was in your sight

The enemy took hold and told him to shoot

Because the next generation was pondering the Truth

The impact you made will truly live on

You were a seed that was sown

You will never be gone.

RIP Charlie Kirk.

Brother in Christ.
