To The Daily Sun,
Recently people in the paper and in the news have come out and said that wearing a mask, social distancing, and keeping Americans locked up is not political, but for our health. The truth is that everything has become political these days: sports, the medical profession, Hollywood, the military, schools of learning, and even food. It seems that most Americans or at least those in power, can only think of things as political; they cannot think in the abstract at all.
Everything that Democrats do is for power and control. They don't like the president so they have decided to do anything and everything to make Americans miserable so that they can seize power. They (the progressives) have been convincing Americans for almost 100 years that the end of man is the state, that the highest thing in the universe is the state. This is not true at all, but many believe it and so cannot grasp anything greater than the state. This is not new thinking. This is straight out of the Marx's Communist Manifesto.
It's frustrating to see how risk adverse our society has become. There are more advances in medicine and technology than ever before and yet mankind is more afraid of its own mortality than they were in the Middle Ages or ancient Israel's time. Why is man so afraid of his mortality?
The answer is pretty simple. Mankind has convinced itself that there is nothing divine or immortal in him anymore. Socialists have convinced most of the world that there is no God, no heaven or hell and that man does not have an immortal soul. Humans are meant to contemplate higher things, things that transcend us like goodness, truth, beauty, and love.
The ancients liked Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Jesus, Saint Thomas Aquinas and many other saints and philosophers. Sure many will say that there dead white guys, why should we listen to them? Humans should read them because they will find what being a human being is all about. Power, money, and control are valueless things and yet many crave it and when they do get it they are miserable, lonely, and vain.
Humans cannot think in the abstract anymore and here's an example: In the case of George Floyd, his death was a tragic mistake, but if people could grasped the abstract concept of justice they would realize that America has a great justice system and it is more than capable of dealing with rogue law enforcement types. Instead BLM and Antifa decides that it is time to knock down statues and try to erase history. The world has already witness the type of "justice" system they envision and is still counting the dead.
