Steve Earle: Mask or no-mask, like everything else it's become political

To mask or unmask, that is the question? Seems to me that has become more political then medical around now, much like the resistance to a safe and effective medication that has shown to be effective against the virus. Never tested for this virus though long available for other conditions, Dems mostly want it fully tested before it is prescribed. Most sick people would say the heck with that, I don't want to die waiting, thank you very much.

As for the masks, yea they help in some environments, Bob Joseph is right on that but before the pandemic even in hospitals staff only wore them in OR's or isolation wards, so just in general public, I question their effectiveness. Yea, I wear one going into Walmart or someplace but I'm in a high risk category but if I see someone without one no reason to have a fit. As I say it's political, like so much now.

One other thing on this, the "experts" on this as so many other things in recent years have been wrong as often as they have been right so I take their advice with healthy grains of salt. CDC recently reported the overall death rate, and likely scenario going forward is 0.26 percent. Not exactly the "Black Death" experts terrorized us about.

Some random thoughts: Mail-in voting in the perfect platform for voter fraud. Who and how will be able to fact check every vote to certify it's legit? If it can't be certified legit how can any election be valid? Will losing side accept the election results as fair? I doubt it!

Twitter and internet sites, None of these should be policing what contributions write. It's not their job to referee our politics. Let the marketplace decide and just report threats of violence or criminal things to authorities. Otherwise just shut them down.

In a recent letter here the writer accused me of not including Fox News, Breitbart and some other conservative sites among those lying. That's because they haven't. Interested parties can research back as far as they want and will find those sites have been accurate and reliable consistently. I still call on readers to "think for yourselves."

The hating the president crowed can't cite why, just that they have been told they must, Example, Joe Biden stated on black program, "If you don't vote for me your not black." Not one scintilla of evidence in four years of "fake news,"  multiple investigations, false accusations has shown any Trump criminalities. Unthinking follow these commands like sheep obey the barking, growling of the vampire media and liberal elite sheep dogs. Think for yourselves and cross check the facts.
