To The Daily Sun,

I recently read a political ad from Elizabeth Warren looking for donations. It read, “Senator Elizabeth Warren will not let Donald Trump and the Republican leadership tilt the playing field for the rich and powerful. Let’s fight to protect America’s working families.”

So, I sent off a letter to Senator Warren asking her to explain how the Republican Tax Cuts & Jobs Act (TC&JA) benefits the rich and hurts the middle class. Her response was that since I was not a Massachusetts resident I was not getting a response. I sent a similar request to Senators Hassen and Shaheen back in March of this year and have still not received a response from either. The reason is clear to me and that is because the numbers will expose the truth that the TC&JA is doing just the opposite.

Back in December 2017 I wrote a series of letters to the editor explaining how the TC&JA would put more money back in the pockets of working Americans and increase the tax burden of those making over $1,000,000/year. I still believe that based on numbers not opinion. In addition, I called a tax accountant and he confirmed that every situation is different but the vast majority of middle income wage earners will benefit and the vast majority of the wealthy will pay more.

Let’s review some of the other “predictions” both the Democrats and the left-leaning media have made.

— “Obamacare will save the average American family $2500/year.” I have never talked to anyone that was paying for health care before Obamacare was enacted that has seen that savings.

— “Donald Trump will lose the presidency in a landslide” and we all know how that turned out.

— “The stock market will crash after Trump is elected president.” The fact is, after he was elected the stock market took an immediate upturn. On Nov. 4, 2016 the Dow was at 17,888. As of July 29, 2018, the Dow was at 25,527, which is a 42.7 percent increase.

— “Donald Trump’s rhetoric with North Korea will start WWIII.” North Korea has stopped launching ballistic missiles and has started dismantling its nuclear arsenal (maybe).

— “Trump imposing tariffs on other countries will start a trade war.” We are now in talks with the European Union to reduce or remove all tariffs between the EU and the USA.

I could go on with more examples but my point is that the talking heads in the left-leaning media and democratic party pass off “opinion” as fact. IT’S NOT!

Anyone who knows me intimately, knows that the one thing that irritates me more than anything else is being lied too. If you have read any of my letters on how Obamacare has hurt the working middle class you will realize what I mean. I’m actually not as opposed to our tax dollars being used to help those in need as my letters may suggest. What I would have liked though is if President Obama, the Democrats and media were truthful and said that we as a nation should take care of those less fortunate and it will cost the average working American $2,500/year and let the American people decide, I would have had no issue with it.

The lie and the coverup is what irritates me the most. Which gets me back to the point of this letter. Elizabeth Warren, the media and the Democratic Party are blatantly lying about the TC&JA and they know it. I have laid out how the rich will pay more in my letter to the editor. (https://www.laconiadailysun.com/opinion/letters/let-me-show-you-how-tax-reform-will-put-money/article_b06adf69-af0f-5b18-8bf7-b806f0bc3b00.html) Please reread that letter. If what I wrote is inaccurate someone on the left should be able to explain the errors in my numbers. I will write a full retraction and an apology if they can convince me with data, not articles from “experts.” Even they need source data to back up their claims.

I’m going to ask a rhetorical question. If the wealthy are getting all the benefits of the TC&JA why are they donating millions of dollars in campaign contributions for candidates that are running on a platform to eliminate the TC&JA? While thinking about that please watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G790p0LcgbI). It’s the one of Johnathan Gruber explaining how “lack of transparency is a huge political advantage” when the Democrats were promoting Obamacare as a saving of $2,500/family. Don’t let them get way with that again or it will cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars per year, depending on your annual income.
