To The Daily Sun,

Despite being exonerated by the Attorney General, Executive Councilor Karen Liot Hill is still facing a frivolous impeachment inquiry by New Hampshire House Republicans. The process began with the introduction of impeachment legislation by Republican House Majority Leader Joe Sweeney on Wednesday, Jan. 7, the opening day of the 2026 Legislative Session.

Why would Republicans continue with an impeachment effort against someone the Attorney General has cleared of wrongdoing?

Republicans in Concord will do anything to distract from their failed record ― including bringing forward a baseless impeachment effort against someone who has been cleared by the Attorney General. For the past five years, Republicans have controlled all branches of state government ― the governor, the Executive Council, the State Senate, and the Statehouse, and yet they have completely failed to lower the cost of living for the people of New Hampshire. Housing, health care, education, and property taxes are more expensive than ever, but instead of making life better for the people of New Hampshire, Republicans are focused on silencing the only Democrat in the Executive Branch.

Liot Hill is working hard to make life better for Granite Staters, and she needs help fighting back against these partisan, political attacks. The attack on Liot Hill is not just an attempt to silence her, but an attempt to silence all of us.
