Richard Littlefield: Let Republicans win based on facts and messaging

From what I am beginning to see online from some certain prominent Republicans, a very big and costly unforced error may be right around the corner.

Republicans like Dan Innis are pushing for mid-decade redistricting that would follow what Texas is getting ready to do.

First, it's important to realize that New Hampshire is not Texas.

Granite Staters shouldn't be following the quest of any other state in this country.

It's not beyond me that we have no Republican representation in Washington, D.C. However, I have to ask myself if disenfranchising independent voters in this state even more is the best possible idea. No, I really don't think it is.

Second, what Texas is doing could very well backfire, causing radical, unjust and costly changes that will without a doubt take Texas off the fiscal cliff.

We can't afford to jump with a much larger state that has a market many many times larger than our entire state budget.

Do I wish we had Republican representation in D.C.? Yes, I have worked and volunteered on red congressional and senate campaigns since 2018.

I want to see independent and conservative Republicans win. I just want it to be done with facts and a positive powerful message, and not because of games played with maps that in some cases will force winners and losers.

The NHGOP should prioritize running favorable common-sense candidates who wish to serve the entire electorate.

We can succeed and do it in a way opposite of severely gerrymandered maps in states like New York, California and Illinois. Things in those states are unfair. But that's for voters in those other states to change.

In New Hampshire, we have to do it right and lead.
