Reading, thinking and reasoning are distinctly different abilities

The college admissions scandal is consuming the public. The left sees it as another example of why more equality is needed. Ignoring with blinders their 75-year push for increased equality has produced only LESS OF IT while producing parents behaving badly. Will Bernadette Loesch admit the failed outcome by the left even if she reads a thousand books this week? I don't think so. Reading, thinking and reasoning are three distinctly different abilities some people have, and others do not.

Part one of the scandal isn't the parents behavior at all. Its' how top tier colleges in America have intentionally constrained output as they watched admissions percentages shrink from 20 percent to 5 percent in recent years. . . it's INSANE; academic bragging rights now come to the colleges with the lowest admission rates.

Getting into a college with a 95 percent DECLINE RATE defines exactly what ELITE has become in America. The MOST IMPORTANT product these college sell is "ELITE" along with an education. That comes second. The same way TIFFANY and CARTIER sell ELITE hawking jewelry. They protect their elite cache by controlling output and access. A 5 percent admissions rate is far more ELITE than a 25 percent one. It also leads sooner or later to corruption, payoffs and cheating and scandal.

Part two. The college MYSTERY/BLACK BOX of who gets in ,and who doesn’t: no outsider should ever discover what the magic key to entrance is. To those who think admission to any elite college is purely on MERIT, they have their head in the sand. There is more obfuscation and skullduggery in college admissions today than ever in our history. In truth it is EVER LESS about MERIT and ever more about everything else, including discrimination.

Start with parents who graduated from these elite colleges. Their children all get SPECIAL ADMISSIONS PREFERENCE automatically, over all others. Children of college employees can get preference They also often get substantial tuition reductions as well. Are these SPECIAL TREATMENTS to the academically CONNECTED FAIR, I ASK YOU? Its clear children of parents who make substantial million dollar (and up) donations to colleges get special preference as well. Not enough special PREFERENCE for you?

Consider the great DIVERSITY HEAD FAKE pushed continually by the left, where colleges do indeed unleash the "black box" as to who gets admitted and who doesn't. The issue has become so explosive Harvard spent much of last summer in federal court in Boston. Asians accused the university of intentional bias and discrimination toward them in FAVOR of OTHERS, including BLACKS, WHITES and HISPANICS. Hundreds of Asians are kept out of Harvard intentionally, no matter how high their SAT scores are that far exceed others on MERIT. Colleges have become ever LESS about MERIT and far more about in your face special PREFERENCE from the secret BLACK BOX of ADMISSIONS elites keep in locked safe.

No wonder all parents are desperate, outraged. Not just the rich. The Asians will attest to that. All we can hope is that Harvard loses the court decision in its efforts to keep it's BLACK BOX operating. If it does scandals like we just had will become far less likely.
