Prudy Morin Veysey & Al Posnack: Citizens for Belknap will continue to provide Belknap County voters with information

Mr. Charles H. Bradley III took issue with Citizens for Belknap’s Sept. 10 Voter’s Guide. He’s absolutely within his rights to complain that we did not recommend anti-Gunstock extremists like Barbara Comtois, Paul Terry and Peter Varney, Free State secessionist Libertarians like Glen Aldrich, and a Christian nationalist like Travis Toner. Nor did we endorse Matthew Lunney, who moved to Meredith in May, ran for office, but made no effort to campaign.

We proudly endorsed 12 Republicans and were neutral on another five. In fact, there were only seven Republicans that we could not recommend based on their harmful votes that negatively affected Belknap County.

Our recommendations in 2022 helped to remove some of the extremists who put Gunstock and the local economy at risk, including then Rep. Dawn Johnson, leaving chaos and legal bills in their wake. Our nursing home now can keep employees and assist more patients. And our county budget restored help for our most vulnerable citizens. At the polls, hundreds of voters thanked us for our efforts to provide them with information on each candidate. If that makes us evil in Mr. Bradley’s mind, we can live with that.

We will attend all candidate forums, and continue to provide Belknap County voters with information. Look for our General Election edition Voter’s Guide. It will be released in October. We will again proudly recommend many more Republicans and Democrats, covering every candidate in every Belknap town, to help voters determine who is a reasonable and responsible candidate to serve the interests of Belknap County.

Let’s all work together to keep county chaos from a comeback.
