To The Daily Sun,

Kurt Webber is, by far, the most qualified candidate to be the next New Hampshire state senator in District 2. Kurt is a West Point graduate, and retired Army officer who served this nation for 23 years as a Green Beret, Airborne, and Ranger. He also had two tours teaching at West Point. He is an Eagle Scout. His two sons are also Eagle Scouts and West Point graduates.

As a long-time volunteer in many community activities, Kurt has proven that he is a leader of character who is committed to integrity, civility and putting principle and people over politics. We need senators in Concord like Kurt Webber.

His opponent, the incumbent, is a political insider who consistently votes for the Free State agenda, which has resulted in much higher property taxes and reduced state support for public education. He has raised much of his campaign money from businesses, utilities, conservative PACs and gambling interests, some of them from out-of-state. He is also the target of an ethics investigation due to an all-expenses paid trip to Israel.

Given all this, I trust Kurt Webber far more than his opponent. I urge the citizens of District 2 to research the websites and history of both candidates. I know that voters will reach the same conclusion.

I urge all voters in District 2 to vote for Kurt Webber. We need a senator who will be a moderate voice in Concord, working for what’s best for all the citizens in District 2 where he will represent the towns of Ashland, Belmont, Campton, Center Harbor, Gilford, Holderness, Laconia, Meredith, New Hampton, Sanbornton, Sandwich and Thornton.
