To The Daily Sun,
I am writing in response to the recent discourse surrounding the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative Board of Directors elections, particularly the insightful letters from Sharon Yeaton, former NHEC executive service administrator and Sharon Davis, NHEC board of directors chair. Their letters were published on May 21 and May 16. Their perspectives underscore the importance of thoughtful leadership and a clear vision for our cooperative’s future.
Yeaton’s letter effectively highlighted the critical issues at stake in this election. Her emphasis on the need for transparency, accountability and change in board representation resonates with many of us who believe in the cooperative’s foundational principles. Sharon Davis, in her letter, clarifies the bylaws amendment. Both letters collectively paint a picture of the kind of leadership we should strive for one that is both responsive and responsible.
On the other hand, I found Alana Albee’s recent letter to be somewhat lacking in the depth and substance required for such a significant discussion and also included some factual errors. While it is important to hear all voices, the arguments presented did not fully address the core issues facing the cooperative today which is improving board representation. It is crucial that our discussions and debates are grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities before us.
I encourage members to consider the detailed and thoughtful arguments presented by Yeaton and Davis. Their contributions provide a solid foundation for making informed decisions that will benefit our cooperative in the long run. Let’s prioritize candidates who demonstrate a genuine commitment to transparency, member engagement and sustainable growth. Please vote with Yeaton’s recommendations for Paul Bolduc, Brian Norton, Peter Laufenberg and Pat Barbour.
Thanks for providing a platform for such important conversations.
