Bipartisan voters’ group Citizens for Belknap, partnering with the League of Women Voters NH, hosted a candidate forum on Wednesday, Sept. 2 for candidates for NH House, Belmont District 4 and and floterial District 8, which includes Belmont, Sanbornton and Tilton. In attendance were Democratic candidates Don House and Don Guigere (District 8) and Liz Charlwood (District 4). Conspicuously absent were Lisa M. Freeman, Cameron Thompson, Kevin M. Nugent, Jr., and Dana Silcock.
The three Democrats each responded to the questions submitted by the audience. I really would like to know what those absent candidates might have had to say. I’d also like to know why they chose to boycott the forum. I don’t always vote along party lines and one or more of them might have persuaded me to vote for them. I guess we’ll never know. What I do know, is that I don’t want to be represented by someone who doesn’t show up.
