In reading Bruce Jenket’s recent letter in the LDS, he appears to be accusing me of lying by omission by not pointing out all the studies and exculpatory evidence about the use of Hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of Covid-19. I was merely responding to the lie told by Russ Wiles regarding the study from the VA. Accusing me of lying by not going into all the studies available is really a far stretch by Mr. Jenkett. The interesting thing is that Mr. Jenkett lies in his letter and it is not a lie of omission but a lie of commission. He wrote, “Here is an article for him to review. It’s by NIH in Bethesda, MD (https://bit.ly/3cgx6ES) where they reviewed nine trials (not one) and concluded it to be effective”.

So I did go the site that you recommended, Bruce, and I found out that you lied about the study and lied about the conclusions. I thought you were an engineer and should be able to review and understand scientific papers; apparently you cannot. From the site itself (I am having a hard time understanding why you would direct me to a site, which disputes everything you say) this is what they reviewed:

“For this study, we identified a total of 09 published articles: 03 clinical trials with sample size 150; 03 in vitro studies and 03 expert consensus reports.” You stated, Bruce they reviewed nine trials. Bruce, your wrong, they reviewed three clinical trials, not nine as you ascertained. Secondly you stated that they concluded it to be effective. Not so fast, this is what they concluded: “It is reasonable, given the hypothetical benefit of these two drugs, that they are now being tested in clinical trials to assess their effectiveness to combat this global health crisis.”

Bruce were does it say that these drugs are effective? You’re wrong and lied again, Bruce. They stated: “It is a hypothetical benefit, and needs to be tested in further clinical studies.” They say nothing about the effectiveness of this drug. And that is all I have been saying, studies need to be done before it is widely used to treat. Seems, Bruce, it is you (from the right, which has demonstrated scientific ignorance) who has lied about this drug and not me, and I think you owe me an apology. But you did cement your place in the Covidiots Hall of Fame. Congratulations.
