To The Daily Sun,
I’m concerned that one candidate running in the Democratic Congressional primary is not being honest about their campaign intentions. Maggie Goodlander says she knows New Hampshire, and yet she admitted in an interview with Harvey Keye last week that she hasn’t lived in the district for 15 years — since growing up. She started renting an apartment here the very same month she announced she was running to represent us in Congress, and now the Boston Globe says she’s raised almost 90% of her campaign donations from outside NH. This doesn’t sound like someone who cares to learn about us. If she owns a multi-million dollar house elsewhere, why rent here? Why not sell your home and permanently move here if you are committed to our community, win or lose?
Meanwhile, Colin Van Ostern has spent decades here fighting for us. He voted to get Planned Parenthood funding restored and bring the Affordable Care Act to NH. He’s endorsed by retiring Congresswoman Annie Kuster and is committed to raising most of his campaign funds from here. Let’s send a real New Hampshire leader to Congress that we know and trust — and tell Maggie Goodlander that our votes can’t be bought.
