Marc Abear: Is it important to have values and principles?

Is it important to have values and principles? If one has values and principles shouldn’t it be possible to follow their remarks and find consistency? Do they apply critical thinking to what they hear and read?

The people who lead political parties and our nation often opine about matters they consider to be of importance. Let’s look at an example of today’s Leftist leadership.

“We have a Supreme Court which has basically 'jumped the guardrails' and is out there giving power to the president. Saying the president can commit any act that the president wants. Saying that Congress cannot authorize agencies to act. So we’ve got a Supreme Court that is actively undermining our democracy... ” Elizabeth Warren from July 2024.

“My view right now is the courts are where we are hanging on to our constitutional structure. They still have the power to hold everybody else in this country in contempt if they do not follow lawfully issued court orders...” Elizabeth Warren from February 2025.

According to the senator the courts are either undermining or saving democracy, depending on whether she agrees with their ruling. So, why isn’t the senator currently calling for the creation of a code of ethics to remove judges like she was last year; what changed?

Sen. Warren excoriates the courts when they’re against her position but lauds them when it supports her position. The senator hates the U.S. Constitution and our institutions. She’s in office to turn America against itself.

Maybe the problem isn’t with the courts. Maybe it’s the senator that is the problem. New Hampshire has two similarly challenged senators, Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan.
