To The Daily Sun,
Confused? Questions? Why? Me too.
I am sitting here on my sofa watching and listening to the local and national news and am so confused as to where everybody's "common sense" has gone, especially nationally, but also locally.
On my way to the grocery store to pick up my purchases, I got on the Bypass from Route 106, setting the cruise control at 55 mph (the speed limit). Checking my rearview mirror, I noticed someone coming up behind me and getting a little close to my rear bumper. By that time, we were crossing Gilford Ave., I was getting ready to pull over into the slow lane to let the vehicle behind me to pass, which it did. At the top of the hill, that vehicle was pretty far in front of me, both of us heading for the end of the Bypass and Route 11 toward the shopping centers. Well guess who pulled into the same shopping center as me? And parked a few spaces away at virtually the same time. Why did they pass me to get to the same parking lot at the same time when I was going the speed limit, pulled over to the slow lane and the price of the gas it took to get past me? Why?
Why do we call ourselves "Americans" as if we are the only ones on this continent? There are three sections of the American continent: North, Central and South. People who live outside the USA are also "Americans" and are insulted that we have taken that identity from them. Is it because they look different from us? Is it because they speak differently (Spanish versus English)? Is it because their history is different than ours? Why?
