To The Daily Sun,

To my dismay but not surprise, Mr. Steven Bogert, who serves as our state representative from Laconia and on the Laconia City Council, voted not to censure Rep. Travis Corcoran for his racist and antisemitic comments. Corcoran's words are deeply offensive. To put Mr. Bogert's vote in context, the NH House voted 288-54 in favor of censure.

Mr. Bogert, after the horrific graffiti at the State School, was flippant. He expressed that the vigil to protest the graffiti was a stupid waste of time and dumb. He is now on record supporting Corcoran. One, I suppose, could forgive him for his utter lack of compassion and knowledge of history.

Laconia had at least nine survivors of the Holocaust living here. Their lives in our city and the memories of the Jewish and non-Jewish World War II veterans from our city are openly disrespected by Mr. Bogert by his vote not to censure Rep. Corcoran.

Most Jewish families have lost family members during the "final solution." The "final solution" is not a joking matter. It is a very painful.

I can forgive Mr. Bogert for the many votes he has made with which I disagree. I cannot and will not ever forgive him this antisemitic and racist vote.
