To The Daily Sun,
When will the stalling stop and construction begin on the most important section of the WOW Trail, the span along the railroad tracks through South Down Shores to Weirs Beach. All these beautiful decorations and benches along the existing trail are not getting the job done.
The original plan, conceived way before South Down was built, is the best plan. South Down was approved with the understanding that the WOW Trail was coming. All this fear mongering about homeless tents and crime and trash along the trail is pure bologna. The trail along Winnisquam is a pleasure, but it doesn't go anywhere. The WOW Trail along side the tracks from Laconia to the Weirs would be an incalculable asset for the area. The absurd idea of sabotaging the existing and functioning rail line is another delaying tactic, more going around and around instead of just building the damn thing along side the track as the state has a right to, for the common good.
The rich, fearful residents of South Down Shores surely have close friends in government and expensive lawyers, but we have a right to this previously agreed trail plan on land owned by the state (the people), for the betterment of Laconia.
