Judy Ballard: An ode to the defeat of The HUB in Moultonborough

To The Daily Sun,

The voters have spoken, they gave a huge snub

When they voted no to a place called The HUB,

The people are tired, and don’t want to complain,

But here’s what they’re saying, a constant refrain:

“Proponents won’t hear us; they act so aloof,

While watching our taxes go straight through the roof!”

We keep telling them that, but they seem to be missin’,

Our points are quite clear, but they cannot listen.

Our intentions are certainly not to cause friction,

However, their data’s filled with fanciful fiction.

We’re quiet and peaceful; we don’t want to holler,

But we’ve repeated this often: "Make the Taj Mahal smaller."

We’ve said this so often, it’s really not funny,

"You’re asking the voters for way too much money!"

Please listen to us; we will then feel so blessed,

If you can’t make it smaller, just give it a rest.”
