Jon Paul: Violent ICE offenders will one day be defendants in court

ICE is causing a major shift in the public's perception of law enforcement in this country. Now, only 46% of the country has a positive view of law enforcement, the lowest level ever recorded and its because of ICE's behavior.

It's vital to separate local law enforcement from ICE. Most police officers in this country are highly trained and respond to incidents with restraint, dedication, fairness and integrity. Police work is a tough, thankless job. We don’t need ICE to diminish what true police officers are doing to keep our communities safe.

The two couldn’t be more different. ICE provides minimal training on non-violent conflict resolution, de-escalation tactics and proper use of force. The current ICE force seems to be made up of police flunkies, mall cops, Jan. 6 insurrectionists, skin heads and mercenaries. Their dedication to serve and protect humanity is virtually non-existent. These folks are given assault rifles, coward masks and body armor and told don’t worry about civil rights or any local or federal laws, just detain as many dark skinned people as possible. What ICE agents need to know is, political power will soon change in this country.

The rouge, violent ICE offenders will have their day in court, as defendants.
