When I read the Union Leader’s front-page headline, I thought it was a joke. A "squirrel slaughter" is not for real hunters. I started hunting when I was 12. Gave up hunting when I moved to Florida.
I hunted with my friends, my brothers, and my relatives. When you are deer hunting, squirrels will walk right up to you. None of us ever shot a squirrel, Are Sen. Tim Lang and his gang going to eat the squirrels they kill? Is the gang going to have a pool for the most squirrels killed? Will Lang's gang proudly brag about all the squirrels they shoot? Will the gang use peanuts to bait the squirrels before blowing them apart?
A bill to have an open season on squirrels is disgustingly insane. Mr. Howard Pearl stated that squirrels damage his maple syrup business significantly. Democrats have cost me thousands of dollars but there is no open season on them.
I will be voting against Sen. Lang. Maybe Sen. Lang and his gang should use a .357 Magnum, that will teach those squirrels.
Meanwhile, we need to feed our squirrels some peanuts.

There is an open season for squirrels! I hunt them and they are delicious. Just a few years ago there was a dearth of food for squirrels. How many did you see dead on the turnpike? Hunters help keep the population in check. Mother Nature is a cruel master. Disease and starvation are her methods of keeping populations in check. Leave the squirrel season alone!
