To The Daily Sun,
The midterm elections are exciting because they focus on New Hampshire issues. This election cycle seems more significant because so many of us in New Hampshire are struggling and looking for solutions. Property taxes are going through the roof. I just ordered winter heating fuel oil. It cost 40% more than last year. Forty percent. Our public schools are struggling. SAU 4 was forced to close a popular elementary school in Danbury in order to meet the basic education requirement this past year. That should never have happened.
We are all looking for solutions from Concord. In the State Senate District 7 race, why are Republicans spending money sending out a flyer accusing Rebecca Harned, Democratic candidate, of voting in other states? It is common to register and vote wherever you live. Rebecca lives and votes in New Hampshire.
Why are Republicans not debating issues? Rebecca speaks clearly about her concerns for high property taxes, the lack of spending on public education, and the need to lower household energy costs. She is offering solutions.
This is what New Hampshire wants to hear. We are all looking for ways to make life better. Let’s focus on how to do that.
