To The Daily Sun,

I am incredibly proud of Tim Minor for stepping outside his comfort zone and running for state representative. I have known Tim for most of my life, and he is someone I have always looked up to.

Tim is hardworking, humble and genuinely selfless. What I have always admired most, though, is the way he treats people. Tim sees the person before the politics. Someone’s political beliefs, background or circumstances have never determined whether he is willing to listen, offer a hand or treat them with respect.

That quality seems especially important today. People can disagree without treating one another as enemies, and Tim has always understood that.

Running for office is not something I ever imagined Tim doing for attention or recognition. Knowing him as I do, I see it as another way he is challenging himself to contribute to the community and state he cares deeply about.

I am proud to see someone I have respected for so many years willing to take this step. Whatever the setting, Tim has always remained the same humble, caring person I have known for most of my life.
