James Veverka: Israeli right-wing politician cites Hitler to justify ethnic cleansing and genocide

If you haven't figured out that Israeli politicians have gone off the deep end and are finally showing their true nature, this might help. Moshe Feiglin, founder of the Israeli right-wing Zehut Party, just quoted Adolf Hitler on Israel's Channel 12 to justify ethnic cleansing and genocide in Gaza. Here is part of what he said: "We are not guests in our country, this is our country, all of it. As Hitler said, 'I cannot live if one Jew is left.' We can't live here if one Islamo-Nazi remains in Gaza." The Israeli newspaper Haaretz and Middle East Eye have been warning Israelis of the rise of fascists (their word) in the government for years. Quotes similar but not as dark as Feiglin's have been common among Israeli leaders for months. This murderous mindset has been clear to progressives from the start. It's taken others an awful lot of mass killing to "get it" but they are getting it. The protesters are correct regardless of what the right-wing windbags write. The protesters were right about Vietnam. Right during the civil rights movement. Right about female equality and reproductive rights. Right about marriage equality. Right about the 2003 invasion of Iraq. What weapons of mass destruction? Black Lives Matter protesters were right. Right about semi-automatic weapons of war flooding our land. And now, the tens of thousands who are supporting a Palestinian state and protesting Israeli war crimes and genocide are correct. And let's be honest; right-wingers hate them, insult them, and attack them in the papers because they really do make a difference and always have. The two-state solution is on the way. Last week, Spain, Ireland, and Norway recognized Palestinian statehood. The UK's Labour Party plans to when they win next month. That makes 147 nations.
