To The Daily Sun,

Here’s a message for all readers who get their electricity from the NH Electric Cooperative.

Readers are not a customer, they are a member and part owner of the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative. Members get to hire the people that run it. This is an exciting time to be in the energy business. Costs for clean, locally generated electricity continue to drop. The demand for electricity is on the rise for multiple reasons. One of which is that people are discovering that using electricity for transportation and home heating is significantly more efficient and significantly less expensive than traditional methods. We need some new forward thinking leadership at NHEC to help us navigate these critical times. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Brad Harkavy (Campton), Laurel Boivin (Lee) and Tom Randell (Moultonborough) and I believe that they are the leaders we need. Ballots are being mailed mid-May. Readers' votes matter. I hope you’ll join me in voting for Brad, Laurel and Tom.
