Dawn Johnson: If elected she would always be available to hear concerns

I read another one of the letters from a writer who is part of a coordinated letter writing campaign to discredit me as a candidate for the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Who is behind this character assassination? Why are they afraid of me representing our city in Concord? Could they be afraid I can’t be bought or influenced by special interest groups? My votes both in Concord and on the city’s school board were always based on protecting the rights of all our citizens, both young and old alike. Apparently, these letter writers don’t like my style when I voice my concerns when fighting to protect these rights. If in order to be heard by the establishment I raise my voice in defense of our community, then I am guilty.

As for the repeated accusations by these letter writers of me having a history of posting antisemitic content — that is a total lie. Yes, I had one post several years ago that appeared to include an antisemitic statement which when I found out about its content, I immediately took it down and apologized, as this is not who I am in any way. Now these letter writers feel they can defame me for this one mistake and continually lie about my character. There is a saying “a lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.”

I want the citizens of Laconia to know if I am elected to represent Laconia District 5, I will always represent you to the best of my ability and always be available to hear your concerns. Please come and meet me in person and decide for yourself at 7 p.m., Memorial Park July 30, Opechee Park Aug. 16, Sanborn Park Aug. 13, Tardif Park Aug. 20 and Leavitt Park Aug. 27.
