David Miller: The people are frustrated with politics interfering with effective democracy

The greatest threat to the United States Constitution is our politics.

For all the alleged business prowess of politicians, skills required for success in operating a company, Congress cannot even balance a budget; more than $3 billion taxpayer dollars are spent daily on $35.46 trillion plus of outstanding federal debt. Talk about inflating the cost of basic goods with debt we cannot afford to repay; do not blame individuals, this is systemic failure wrought by majorities of both Democrat and Republican parties with excess spending and cutting taxes for the wealthy, amongst other variables.

For all the judicial philosophy impounded upon justices — including essential judicial restraint against overruling precedent unless it is clearly unlawful — we have Supreme Court majorities rewriting the very meaning of the Constitution without any changes to law or fact; see Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, Citizens United v. FEC, Bush v. Gore, DC v. Heller, et al. Law and order requires consistency in legal interpretation or corruption and chaos will ensue. Legitimate unbiased jurists understand this — the law, not personal ideology, comes first.

The people are frustrated with politics interfering with effective democracy; a government which represents the interests of everyone, not just those with power. A strong minority of citizens have become so frustrated they now support an insurrection against the U.S. Constitution, usually unaware or in denial of this fact, and this very support is causing supporters of legitimate Constitutional doctrine to react in anger and disgust. Some days I lose all hope and look for ways out, but I am still here because I believe the American dream is still alive today despite all the signs otherwise.

The American dream is available to anyone regardless of their race, color, sex, age, gender, disability, national origin, etc.
