To The Daily Sun,

I am a registered independent voter in New Hampshire. I do not understand why this state has stolen my constitutional right to vote. This has been long standing and it is time we stand up for ourselves.

Before I vote, I take the time to find those candidates that I feel will best serve the people they represent. Being an independent voter, I am watching every candidate, regardless of their political party affiliation. However, when NH has their primary elections, I am forced to declare and only vote using one of two money filthy parties’ ballot. I just want the right to vote for those candidates that I support. Often these candidates are affiliated with opposing parties.

Why can’t the state of NH offer an independent ballot that is quite like the general election ballot. List all of the candidates, along with their party affiliation, and let the independent voters of NH express their support. The final results are simple: tally the votes and determine which candidates will move on to the General Election. It shouldn’t matter if a voter has a political party preference, but should matter that the voters get the right to select the best candidates.
