To the Daily Sun,
I, Catherine Holub Smith, have been a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Franklin/Tilton area for 35 years. It has been a pleasure to serve this community. My patients have been loyal and faithful to me and I to them. The experiences, both of elation and disappointment, have been profound and have sustained me through these many years. I will miss the authentic, sincere, and loving relationships that have endured through three generations of parents, their children and their children.
Now I want to acknowledge the late Dr. Robert Schumacher for his mentorship and friendship, Rick Silverberg for his trust, support and vision when I first came to Health First. A pediatric practice was allowed to flourish and grow in a family practice setting. Though it was not my decision to leave, I hope my patients can understand that this is a reflection of turbulent times in medicine. I would never abandon them. My patients are my extended family. They will always be in my thoughts and memories. It has been a great ride.
