To The Daily Sun,
As a veteran who uses Manchester VA for care and have friends who are and have in past stayed in the hospital and home part, I became concerned when I read about the story of deaths of 70 plus veterans at the VA home in Mass.
Such a tragedy! Of course I first thought about my own care and safety and safety of my brothers and sisters at Manchester, after all the problems we have feared in the past. I made calls to friends and to hospital, to a staff person I have come to trust. As a Vietnam veteran, trust doesn’t come easy and as all know, once lost, that’s it.
Over the years of being treated at Manchester, I have been fortunate and have never "fallen through the cracks,” but as a retired PA I do understand how that can happen. Too often then there is a big problem someplace.
At this Time. Manchester VA is in a good place, as far as I know. I’m sure if I spoke with each individual I’d probably hear some complaints but if many spoke of the same complaint, then we’d have a problem.
Thank you to ALL ,the doctors, nurses, AIDS, every staff member — and I mean staff member — and yes, Never forget those veterans, men/women who continue to volunteer and serve their fellow veterans!
