To The Daily Sun,
Halloween or Hallowe'en (a contraction of All Hallows' Evening), also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows' Eve, or All Saints' Eve is a celebration observed in a number of countries on October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It begins the three-day observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed.

It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain; that such festivals may have had pagan roots; and that Samhain itself was Christianized as Halloween by the early Church. Some believe, however, that Halloween began solely as a Christian holiday, separate from ancient festivals like Samhain. Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of Winter. It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals, along with Imbolc (Saint Brigid's Day), Bealtaine (May Day), and Lughnasa (the beginning of the harvest season).

Like the Spanish Dias de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead), it is a time when many believe that the dead can return home to visit loved ones, and so feasts are held to celebrate them, and bonfires were lit to help them find their way. Even Disney had a movie about it, called "Coco".  There is nothing inherently evil about Halloween whatsoever. Unless you have a particularly small mind.
