To The Daily Sun,

Dear Mr. Hemmel,

Your hyperbolic letter of March 24 has prompted me to end my letter writing break. I’ll “answer" a couple of your statements.

Please define a “safe neighborhood.” At what point does it become unsafe?

Most firearms were developed by civilians. Some of them were adopted by the Armed Forces, thus becoming “weapons of war.” Note that, at one point, spears and rocks were cutting edge “weapons of war.”

So I (apparently) only have “pea shooters” if the government comes for my guns. But you said that I had weapons of war. If that comes to pass, hopefully, I can upgrade to a potato gun.

Do I love the NRA? Hardly. The NRA has been enabling gun control (yes, control) since the National Firearms Act of 1934. Always in the name of “compromise." (Meaning: the pro-rights give a little and the anti-rights give nothing in return.)

Do you own more than one vehicle? Does it have a high capacity gas tank? Is it capable of going over the legal speed limit? How quickly can it accelerate?

And, point of language: you wrote statements with question marks.
