To The Daily Sun,
This is to invite everyone from the community to a StorySlam on Thursday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia to benefit the N.H. Humane Society.
StorySlams are fun events that are happening around the country but not many have been held in the Lakes Region.
Up to 12 storytellers who enter for the evening will be picked to tell a 5-6 minute story about an event in their life that fits with the theme for the evening “It Seemed Like A Good Idea”.
You don’t have to be a professional storyteller, just have a good tale to tell. Anyone with a paid admission can enter to possibly get the chance to tell their story. Even if you aren’t picked to tell yours, you will receive a prize just for entering.
The winner gets a plaque and a gift certificate and other prizes will be awarded as well.
So, come down for a night of great fun. Even if you don’t have a story to tell, you will enjoy listening to others tell theirs. Best of all it benefits a great charity.
Admission is $15 and Pitman’s is BYOB establishment.
